WVU launches Mobile Main Street for state towns

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia University's School of Journalism is formally launching a community-outreach initiative called Mobile Main Street.

School officials will discuss the initiative in detail today in Morgantown.

Associate Professor Dana Coester says it's designed to engage small-town groups, businesses and media in mobile app development and marketing.

That can, in turn, help fuel economic development in those communities.

The event will include a demonstration of the mobile app and testimonials from community partners about how they've benefited from the initiative.
