Loved Ones' Group, a confidential group that offers education, help and hope for those concerned about someone's alcohol or drug use, meets at 6:30 p.m. each Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Church, 305 E St., South Charleston. The ThunderTones chorus, the Huntington Tri-State Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, will host a special guest night at 7 p.m. Sept. 20 at the American Legion Post 16, 1421 Sixth Ave., Huntington. Any man who likes to sing is cordially invited to attend. Problem Gamblers Help Network of West Virginia will host a special event Sept. 21-23 at the Chief Logan Conference Center in Logan. The free conference is for problem gamblers and their loved ones who are seeking recovery from this debilitating addiction. There will be various speakers and workshops. Town of Marmet will sponsor a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Marmet Recreation Center. Tickets are $8. Southern Drawl will be featured. Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a hike Sept. 23 on Mary Ingles Trail. Meet at 1:30 p.m. to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. Regroup at the trail parking lot at the Winfield end. The hike is approximately four miles, out and back, with moderate hills.
