CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Children's Home Society of West Virginia will holds its annual "Art from the Heart" fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hill, Peterson, Carper, Bee and Deitzler PLLC in the Northgate Business Park in Charleston.

The event will showcase Appalachian artists. There will also be a silent and a live auction with art, books, wine, packages, gift certificates and other items.

Funds collected at the fundraiser benefit the Charleston site, which has several programs including a youth emergency shelter, foster care, adoption and mentoring.

The Children's Home Society celebrated its 116th anniversary this year. The organization helps more than 10,000 families in the state each year.

Tickets for the fundraiser are $25 per person or $40 per couple. Tickets are $5 more at the door.
