PRINCETON, W.Va. -- Former West Virginia star and NBA executive Rod Thorn is being honored in Princeton this weekend.

An interchange where Interstate 77 meets U.S. Route 460 in Mercer County is being named after Thorn. The Bluefield Daily Telegraph reports a ceremony is set for Sunday at the Chuck Mathena Center in Princeton.

The 71-year-old Thorn has served in numerous capacities in the NBA and currently is president of the Philadelphia 76ers. He lettered at West Virginia from 1961 to 1963 and remains among the school's all-time scoring leaders. Thorn attended high school in Princeton.
