CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A conference focusing on children who are exposed to dangerous home environments is set in Charleston.

The conference is designed to improve the skills of police officers, social service providers, prosecutors, and medical, mental health and other professionals who respond to children involved in such matters.

About 200 professionals are signed up for Thursday's conference at the Charleston Town Center Marriott. U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin is scheduled to deliver the opening remarks.
