Boone Memorial Hospital: will sponsor a Breast Cancer Awareness Walk at 1 p.m. Friday on the hospital's campus. Entry fee is $10 and payment can be made on-site. Registration includes a Breast Cancer Awareness T-shirt and memory/survivor ribbon that will be displayed in the hospital lobby during the month of October. Refreshments, several gift giveaways and a grand prize drawing at the conclusion of the walk will be featured. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Julia Price Breast Cancer Foundation. Cabell Huntington Hospital: will sponsor its Second Annual SeniorFest from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 29 in the atrium of the Marshall University Medical Center on the campus of Cabell Huntington Hospital with a focus on empowering people to take control of their health through more health screening opportunities and useful information about nutrition, exercise and medical services. This year, the annual prostate cancer screening will also be included in SeniorFest, with men receiving free PSA blood tests for those men who qualify, and free Vitamin D blood test screenings for women. Free flu shots and Tdap immunizations will be provided by the Cabell-Huntington Health Department. Brown bag medication reviews and games and prizes will also be featured.
