Gingrich’s sister, mayor of Newark join WVU forum

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- The sister of former Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich and the Democratic mayor of Newark, N.J., are among the speakers at this year's Festival of Ideas at West Virginia University.

Candace Gingrich-Jones is a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender activist. Booker is in his second term leading his state's largest city and recently spoke at the Democratic National Convention.

Also on the lineup are pioneering cancer doctor and researcher David Agus and geologist Scott Tinker, who co-produced the award-winning energy documentary "Switch."

Agus speaks at 7:30 p.m. Oct 10, while Gingrich-Jones appears Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m.

Booker is speaking Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m., and Tinker will appear March 19 at 6:30 p.m.

All lectures are free and open to the public.
