MONTGOMERY, W.Va. -- Bridgemont Community and Technical College will offer an accelerated associate degree in Diesel Technology, starting Monday.

Classes are at the South Charleston campus and let students finish in less than a year, compared to two years in a more traditional class schedule.

President Jo Harris says the program was created in collaboration with local industry leaders to meet their need for skilled technicians. Graduates can expect to earn more than $40,000 a year.

Classes are Monday through Friday for 45 weeks, and financial aid is available.

Bridgemont offers one-year certificates and two-year associate degrees in many fields, including engineering technology, advanced manufacturing, business and health management and dental hygiene.
