American Public names new dean of education school

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. -- American Public University System has named Conrad Lotze to the new position of dean of the School of Education.

Lotze has been senior product development manager and math program coordinator at the Teachers College of Western Governors University, another online school.

Provost Karan Powell said Monday that Lotze brings valuable experience in how technology can enhance learning.

Lotze says his job will be to make sure APU's curriculum remains relevant and forward thinking.

Lotze has a bachelor's degree from the College of William and Mary, a master's degree from West Virginia University and a doctorate in mathematics education from American University.

He lives in Charles Town.

The school offers 87 online degree programs through American Public University and American Military University.
