WHEELING, W.Va. -- The Wheeling Jamboree has a new home at Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack.

Officials are announcing details Thursday. The first live, weekly country music show in the casino showroom is Oct. 6.

It features singer-songwriter Lauren Mascitti, plus Redd Brand and the Jamboree USA Band.

The Oct. 13 show features the current patriarch of the Wheeling Jamboree, Darnell Miller, along with Lois Scott and the National Pike Pickers.

The Jamboree is heard worldwide by radio, video on demand and a streaming Internet feed.

It was housed at the historic Capitol Music Hall from the early 1930s to 2007, when the hall was closed for safety reasons.

Wheeling Island has more than 1,600 slot machines and a poker room, plus a hotel, restaurants and live greyhound racing.
