Starbucks may reopen by end of week

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Charleston Town Center Mall's Starbucks hopes to open by the end of the week, a mall spokeswoman said Monday.

The coffee shop in the mall's center court has been closed since Sept. 20 because of renovations surrounding its kiosk, said mall spokeswoman Lisa McCracken.

McCracken on Monday spoke with the shop's manager, who said she hoped to get approval to reopen the Starbucks "by the end of the week."

The last of the concrete work going on around the kiosk should be done Tuesday evening, McCracken said.

McCracken said she'd announce via social media when she has confirmation of when the coffee shop will reopen. She said mall officials respect Starbucks' decision to be closed during much of the renovations.

"They're surrounded by the renovations, and they don't have staging areas to go to," McCracken said. "...We'll be happy to have them open as soon as they deem they can."
