Scenes of the Week: Oct. 6, 2012 (Fall foliage)
Advertiser

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- On a scenic day in early autumn this week, Gazette-Mail photographer Lawrence Pierce captured several scenes of West Virginia fall foliage. Pierce traveled along W.Va. 15 between Webster Springs and Valley Head -- and on the road to Snowshoe in Pocahontas County -- snapping photos along the way. He took a train ride on the Cass Scenic Railroad, and shot photos of Bald Knob and the Whittaker Station, as well as the railroad's track itself, with the limestone gravel contrasted by a few colorful fallen leaves. Pierce also photographed two scenes of the Williams River. Click here to see the collection.
