WVU narrows search for new dean of School of Public Health
Advertiser

MORGANTOWN -- Health Sciences Chancellor Christopher Colenda says the finalists for the new post of dean of West Virginia University's School of Public Health have been narrowed to four.

They are: Craig Carter, director of the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Kentucky; Philip Nasca, professor of epidemiology at State University of New York-Albany; James Studnicki, public health professor at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte; and the interim founding dean, WVU's own Alan Ducatman.

Colenda said all four will soon be introduced to faculty, student and staff as the selection process continues.

Public Health is the first school created at WVU in more than 50 years.

The Legislature included $1 million in WVU's 2011-12 budget to help get the school started, and it's since gotten some private donations as well.
