W.Va. Book Festival is this weekend

SUNDAY

"Finding Your Voice: Lessons I Learned from "Child of the Mountains": 12:30 p.m. Presented by Marilyn Shank. Room WV 103.

MARC HARSHMAN: 12:30 p.m. The new West Virginia Poet Laureate gives his inaugural reading in "Done with Lying and Bad Luck" and reflects on the legacies of Louise McNeill and Irene McKinney, the Laureates who most immediately preceded him. Room WV 105.

DAN CHAON: 2 p.m. The author, a National Book Award finalist, reads from his book, "Stay Awake," a collection of haunting, suspenseful stories of scattered families. Room WV 103

"Inspirational Fiction: Compelling Stories, Lasting Hope": 2 p.m. Christian fiction panel with Tamera Alexander, Lynn Austin and Julie Klassen. Room WV 105.

"Superman, Batman, Nobleman": 3:30 p.m. Children's author Marc Tyler Nobleman discusses the creators behind our favorite superheroes. Conference room 202.

"Quarantine": 3:30 p.m. Parkersburg native Rahul Mehta reads from the short story (part of his award-winning "New Stories from the South") about an Indian immigrant family in West Virginia. Room WV 103.

"Time-Traveled Tales": 3:30 p.m. Presented by the West Virginia Storytelling Guild. Room WV 105.

All authors except Charlaine Harris (see details under her program) will sign books in the Featured Authors area of the marketplace immediately following their programs.

Festival marketplace and Word Play children's area: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Used book sale: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Thousands of books and other library materials ranging in price from 50 cents to $3. (Cash and checks only.) Also a small area with rare and collectible books, priced individually.
