FUTURE EVENTS

Kanawha County Commission: will have special meeting at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the voters registration offices, 415 Quarrier St. The meeting is to conduct the public test for early voting for the general election pursuant to West Virginia Code.

Putnam County Parks and Recreation: announces the circus scheduled for Wednesday at Valley Park has been canceled.

The Retired United Steelworkers, S.O.A.R.: will have their regular meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the local union hall. Food will be potluck. All retirees and spouses are welcome. Call Arol Squires at 304-273-2877 or Larry Lacorte at 304-273-3158.

Kanawha County Parks and Recreation Commission: will meet at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Coonskin Family Center, Coonskin Park.

Al-Anon: will have meetings for friends and family of alcoholics and Alateen meetings for teens who deal with the alcoholism and/or drug addiction of a family member or friend. Meetings will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesdays at St. John's Episcopal Church, 1105 Quarrier St.; noon on Wednesdays at the Kanawha County Day Report Center, 900 Christopher St.; 7 p.m. Thursdays in the Edgewood area, St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 819 Somerset Drive; Alateen meetings, 7 p.m. Thursdays, Edgewood area, St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 819 Somerset Drive; and 7 p.m. Sundays, Legacy Study Group, First Presbyterian Church, 508 Second Ave., South Charleston.

Charleston-Kanawha Housing Authority Board of Commissioners: will meet from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at Washington Manor, 50 Ida Mae Way.
