W.Va. officials meeting to discuss veteran education

INSTITUTE, W.Va. -- West Virginia officials are meeting to discuss ways to increase opportunities for veterans to attend the state's colleges and universities.

The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission is hosting a symposium on the topic on Tuesday on the campus of West Virginia State University in Institute.

The event will feature a keynote address from Retired Brig. Gen. Allison A. Hickey, undersecretary for benefits at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

The commission's Office of Veterans Education and Training Programs oversees educational institutions and training programs in West Virginia.
