CHARLESTON, W.Va. --  Police said surveillance footage led to the apprehension on a 24-year-old St. Albans man who allegedly stole a vehicle from a Charleston hospital parking garage Friday.

Mildred Carper, 80, was walking to her 2002 Jeep Liberty parked in the CAMC General Hospital parking garage when a man approached her and grabbed her keys, Charleston Police Sgt. Eric Hodges said. The man then hopped in her car and drove off, leaving her standing there, Hodges said.

Police released surveillance footage and family members identified the suspect Tuesday as Brent Edward Prouse. He was arrested and charged with one felony count of grand larceny. He was expected to be arraigned on the charge Tuesday
