ELEANOR, W.Va. -- Putnam Career and Technical Center will hold an event Thursday to promote alternative fuel vehicles.

The school is taking part in one of more than 160 "Alternative Fuel Vehicle Day Odyssey" events being held around the world, according to a news release from the school.

In its 10th year, the event, created by the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium at West Virginia University, will focus on "Driving Change Across America" -- this year's theme, the release states.

The use of alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles, clean technology and reducing the nation's energy dependence will be celebrated.
