Erika and Patrick Steiner of Lockport, N.Y., wanted a carefree wedding, so the couple decided to get married on the New River Gorge Bridge and then take another big plunge -- into the Gorge.

Donald Cripps, 83, of Florida, was the oldest BASE jumper at West Virginia's 33rd annual Bridge Day celebration. Cripps, who did his first BASE jump at the New River Gorge last year, said he wanted to see if it was just as scary the second time around.

More than 100,000 people crowded the New River Gorge Bridge and surrounding area during Bridge Day. About 100 vendors lined the highway, selling food, clothes and music, among many other items.

Canadian Lonnie Bissonnette jumps off the New River Gorge Bridge in his wheelchair during Saturday's 33rd annual Bridge Day in Fayetteville. Bissonnette is the only paraplegic BASE jumper to leap off all four objects in BASE: building, antenna, span and earth.
