Car strikes, kills jogger

FRAZIERS BOTTOM, W.Va. -- A car struck and killed a jogger as he tried to cross a road in Putnam County early Sunday morning, police say.

A four-door sedan hit John Martin Arthur, 60, of Fraziers Bottom, as the man tried to cross West Virginia Route 817 in Fraziers Bottom around 6:40 a.m. Sunday, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Department.

Arthur died from his injuries.

The sheriff's department is investigating the collision.
