WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. -- West Liberty University students and staff are returning to a tornado-ravaged town in Kentucky to help with ongoing recovery efforts.
West Liberty, Ky., was one of the towns hardest hit by tornadoes March 2. The public university in West Virginia that shares the town's name sent a team of students and staff to provide help shortly after the disaster.
The Intelligencer and Wheeling News-Register reports that another trip is planned this week. Students and staff will paint newly built homes, and continue collecting debris and clearing tree damage.
Sophomore Abbey Boram says what she saw during her first visit inspired her to return. She says she feels connected to the town and wants to help again.
