Charleston leaf pickup starts Monday
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Charleston's annual loose-leaf pickup drive begins Monday and continues through the month of November.
Residents can rake loose leaves to the edge of city streets for pickup by vacuum trucks, but should not mix in branches, yard waste, pots or other heavier materials that will not go through the leaf vacuum.
Leaves will be picked up in each area of the city for two days each week. If leaves are not picked up in your area, the trucks will return the next week.
Before Monday, residents are urged to bag leaves in their clear yard waste/recycling bags, which will be picked up on their normal refuse pickup days.
The pickup schedule:
Monday and Tuesday -- Kanawha City
Wednesday and Thursday -- South Hills
Friday and Saturday -- West Side and East End
