House fire kills 2 people in McDowell County

WELCH, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a house fire that killed two people in McDowell County.

The fire occurred Monday evening at a house in Newhall.

McDowell County sheriff's Deputy Mark Shelton tells the Bluefield Daily Telegraph that the victims were a male and a female who lived in the house. Their names haven't been released.

The cause of the fire hasn't been determined.
