CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Boone County man will spend 8 years in federal prison for using an Internet file-sharing program to download child pornography to his computer.

U.S. District Judge John T. Copenhaver on Wednesday sentenced Daniel C. Runion, 27, of Seth, to eight years in prison plus another 15 years on supervised release on charges of receiving child pornography. Runion pleaded guilty to the charges earlier this year.

Investigators say Runion had more than 600 images of children engaged in sexual activities on his computer, according to a release from the office of U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin.
