NITRO, W.Va. -- A 70-year-old Nitro man admitted last week to sexually abusing a male relative more than 25 years ago, police said.

Lonnie Olive Blaylock, of 14th Street in Nitro, was arrested and charged Oct. 19 with sexual assault and sexual abuse by a parent or guardian, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court by South Charleston Police Cpl. S.A. Hatten.

The victim, now 36, told police on Aug. 31 that Blaylock abused him multiple times when the victim was 11 years old, according to the complaint. Blaylock allegedly fondled and performed oral sex on the victim at his home and in his car. Some of the acts happened inside Blaylock's car parked in a wooded area where the Walmart at Southridge Centre is located today, according to the complaint.

Hatten and State Police Trooper R. Richardson interviewed Blaylock on Oct. 11 and he allegedly provided a full, written statement confessing to the charges.

Blaylock was being held Thursday in South Central Regional Jail in lieu of a $25,000 cash-only bail. Kanawha County Magistrate Kristen Vieweg found probable cause to move the case to Kanawha Circuit Court during a pretrial hearing Thursday.
