Greenbrier Historical Society is continuing its Fall Lecture Series at 6 p.m. Nov. 1 in the auditorium at New River Community and Technical College, Lewisburg. Former West Virginia congressman, secretary of state and author Ken Hechler will speak. There are three November lectures; admission is $5 per person per lecture, or sign up for all three for $12. Mid Ohio Valley Model Railroad Club will have its 17th annual Train and Show Sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 3 at West Virginia University-Parkersburg, located along W.Va. 47, one mile east of Exit 174 off Interstate 77. Admission is $4 for ages 12 and up. There will be operating layouts in several gauges, a bucket drawing, refreshments and vendors selling items related to model railroads.
