Mich. man pleads guilty in W.Va. child-sex case

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- A Michigan man faces up to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to traveling to West Virginia to have sex with a minor.

Federal prosecutors said Monday that 33-year-old Ashlee Liebert of Whitmore Lake, Mich., entered his plea in federal court in Huntington.

Prosecutors say Liebert established a relationship with a 12-year-old Putnam County girl, in which he had email and phone conversations that were sexual in nature.

In March, Putnam County authorities discovered Liebert and the minor in his parked vehicle in Buffalo, and found various items including vodka and a bag of candy. Officials say a search of his home uncovered more than 600 images and videos of minors engaged in sexual conduct.

Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 11.
