Wife of new WVSU president gives birth to twins

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia State University's President Brian O. Hemphill and his wife, Marisela, are the proud parents of West Virginia's newest Yellow Jackets, born on Monday.

Son, Cruz Santos Hemphill, was born at 3:24 p.m. Monday. He's 18.5 inches long and weighs 5 pounds, 5 ounces. His twin sister, Catalina Elena Hemphill, followed at 3:26 p.m. She is also 18.5 inches long and weighs 5 pounds, 11 ounces.

The entire Hemphill family reports that they are doing well and looking forward to returning to their home on the Institute campus Thursday.
