Kanawha man injured by hit-and-run driver
Advertiser

MINK SHOALS, W.Va. -- Kanawha County sheriff's deputies are looking for someone who clipped a pedestrian early Friday in a hit-and-run accident.

Scott Thaxton, of Big Chimney, was walking along U.S. 119 in Mink Shoals at about 1 a.m. when he was struck by a car heading north, according to Capt. Sean Crosier of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department. Crosier said the car kept going.

Thaxton received minor injuries to his arm, Crosier said. Witnesses said the car was an older model dark colored or black muscle car, perhaps a Chevrolet Chevelle, with white racing stripes running from the front to the back. The car probably has damage to the passenger-side mirror.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Deputy C.R. Atha at 304-357-0169.
