Veterans' Legacy events begin Monday

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Starting Monday, everyone is invited to the grand opening of a photo exhibit and book signing at the Glenville State College Art Gallery. Monday's event is part of a week of activities sponsored by the West Virginia Veterans' Legacy Project. The project was established at the college to collect and preserve the stories of West Virginia veterans.

On Monday, a photo book signing will begin at 5 p.m. The exhibit is titled "Heroes Among Us," and it is free and open to the public.

On Tuesday, the group will sponsor another book signing at noon in the Glenville State College Robert F. Kidd Library. Warren Matheny will be there with his book, "WWII Remembered."

On Thursday at 7 p.m., the public is invited to the Veterans Theatre Production based on the project at the Glenville State College Fine Arts Center. There will also be an encore performance at 7 p.m. Friday. The productions are free for both nights.
