CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Kanawha County emergency officials are looking for dispatchers to staff the Kanawha County Metro 911 Center.
Metro 911 Executive Director Johnny Rutherford hopes to hire eight 911 dispatchers before January. Dispatchers work 12-hour shifts that include every other weekend off.
Base salary is $25,000, but built-in overtime brings the figure up to almost $29,000. Base pay increases to $28,000 following training. Benefits include health insurance with dental and vision coverage.
