CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Tractor Supply Store is coming to Quincy, the Kanawha County Commission announced Monday.

Representatives from the Tractor Supply Co. got a building permit from the county planning and development office for the location, which will be near the 84 Lumber on land leased from Quincy Coal, according to the commission.

Construction on the $1.6 million, 20,000 square-foot building will begin in the next few weeks and is slated for completion in late spring.

"Quincy Coal is to be commended for their diligence in putting together a lease package that enticed Tractor Supply Co. to build in the eastern part of our county," Kent Carper, commission president, said in a prepared statement.

"This development will bring 25 to 30 much-needed new jobs to the eastern part of our county."

Tractor Supply has more than 20 locations across West Virginia, including those in Hurricane and Oak Hill, according to the company's website.
