Police schedule sobriety/safety checkpoints

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Several law enforcement agencies have scheduled safety and sobriety checkpoints.

  • The South Charleston detachment of the West Virginia State Police will conduct a safety checkpoint from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Kanawha Terrace and Green Valley Drive in Jefferson.
  • State Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint between 8 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 119, mile 48, Danville/Madison area of Boone County.
  • The Raleigh County Sheriff's Department will conduct increased patrols and sobriety checkpoints during November.
