BECKLEY, W.Va. -- Authorities in Kentucky have captured an inmate who escaped two days earlier from the Beckley Correctional Center.

The U.S. Marshals Service says 26-year-old Joseph Cody Genet was arrested Wednesday at his mother's home in Catlettsburg, Ky.

On Tuesday night, he eluded capture in Ironton, Ohio, when he fled another relative's home on foot as officers arrived.

Genet was discovered missing during an inmate count Monday. He was serving a one-to-15-year sentence at the minimum-security facility for burglary charges in Wayne County.
