MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- A West Virginia University program designed to forge relationships between private industry and student and faculty researchers is holding a showcase event focusing on security and intelligence.

The event is scheduled for today at the Erickson Alumni Center in Morgantown.

More than 45 companies and 60 WVU faculty members are scheduled to attend, along with 17 researchers nominated by their deans and senior administrators to display posters outlining their work. Company presenters will outline research and development goals, current projects and opportunities for collaboration with university faculty.

The event is part of a WVU project called Linking Innovation, Industry and Commercialization. The project is funded through a grant to the WVU Office of Research from the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation.
