University of Charleston students will sponsor a concert to benefit Melody's Mann, a Cross Lanes mobile food pantry, at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 in UC's Geary Student Union. WV 350 Reversing Climate Change is hosting a free event called the "Planet Protecting Potluck" at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Visitors can begin the evening by browsing the ReStore, enjoying the potluck and viewing displays on renewables, energy efficiency and climate change. A "Climate Reality Slide Show" will be screened beginning at 6:30 p.m. Presented by Climate Leadership Corp.'s Regan Quinn, the slide show lays out the undeniable reality of human-induced climate change, its terrible costs, just exemplified by Hurricane Sandy, and the brighter, better future, which may lie around the corner if we act wisely.
