Ex-W.Va. governor celebrates Digital Learning Day
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Former Gov. Bob Wise is back in West Virginia to celebrate Digital Learning Day.
Wise is president of the Washington, D.C.-based Alliance for Excellent Education. He'll be at Mountainview Elementary today to recognize the school that inspired what is now an international event.
Digital Learning Day celebrates teachers and the effective use of technology in classrooms.
In 2010, Mountainview held a No Paper, No Pencils Day to encourage the use of interactive and digital, technology-based activities.
The first Digital Learning Day was held last February, with nearly 2 million participants. The next is Feb. 6, 2013.
Wise says he's eager to show the children how their original thinking stretched around the globe.
He says they've shown that there are no limits to how far a good idea can go.
