Charleston City Council of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday for the annual Pledge Ritual Banquet at Harding's Restaurant, off Mink Shoals Exit of Interstate 79. All members and guests are welcome. President Anne Stone will host the event.
Kanawha Valley Regional Transportation Authority Board of Directors will meet at 8:45 a.m. Thursday at the offices, 1550 Fourth Ave.
Putnam County Parks and Recreation will present a "Yuletide in the Park" from 6 to 9 p.m. nightly, Nov. 26 through Jan. 1, at Valley Park in Hurricane. Family activities are planned Dec. 3-8 in the Community Center and the Commons.
The Greenbrier Historical Society will have its next fall lecture at 6 p.m. Thursday at the North House Museum. Dr. Robert Conte, historian at The Greenbrier resort, will speak on "Who was that Person: Notable Personalities who have visited The Greenbrier," focusing on celebrities and other distinguished guests of the resort in White Sulphur Springs. The cost of the lecture is $5. Proceeds benefit the many and varied programs of the Greenbrier Historical Society. Seating is limited. Call 304-645-3398 to make reservations.
