Sprucing up the Capitol (photos)
State General Services Division workers use a crane to lower a 25-foot blue spruce tree, which will serve as one of the state's official Christmas trees this season, into place at the Capitol's north side fountain. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Fewell of Winfield donated the tree. Plans include placing another 25-foot-tall tree at the south side of the Capitol building on Friday and a 14-foot-tall tree at the Governor's Mansion on Monday.
State General Services Division workers Carles Farley (left) and Charles Long attach a support cable high up on the tree that was set up Wednesday as one of the official state Christmas trees on the north side of the state Capitol Complex.
