In the dining room that she transformed into a studio, Betsy Trammel surrounds herself with artwork, including artistic contributions from her family. The floral painting hanging on the wall behind her was done by her step-grandmother.

In 1965, as a Chi Omega at Louisiana State University, Betsy Trammel was photographed at a sorority dance with her future husband, Willis, now a well-known Charleston surgeon. They moved here in 1978.

A nature lover, Betsy Trammel loves to paint outdoors. She and her husband, Willis, also an artist, frequently paint outdoors together.

A certified Master Naturalist, Betsy Trammel puts her artistic skills to good use in her nature journals. She draws the trees, plants and wildlife she sees in the woods and jots down information about them.
