KINGWOOD, W.Va. -- Four Preston County residents each face 68 cruelty charges after authorities seized more than 70 malnourished animals from their home.

The Dominion Post reports that the animals include 29 dogs, 14 cats, five guinea pigs, two pot belly pigs, 20 chickens and a goat.

Authorities went to the home near Rowlesburg late Friday in response to a complaint.

Preston County sheriff's deputies reported that the animals didn't have food or water and were underfed. Most were living on piles of feces and garbage. Two dead chickens were found inside a coop.

Deputies arrested George Moats Jr., 44; Terry Bennett, 66; Richard Moats, 59; and Tonya Moats, 31. All four suspects were being held at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on $5,000 bond each.
