Cause sought for fire at historic Shepherdstown home

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Authorities are investigating a fire that damaged a historic home near Shepherdstown.

The Herald-Mail reports that the fire occurred early Thursday morning at the red brick home. There were no injuries.

Jefferson County Historical Society spokesman Curt Mason says the home was built in the 1830s and was part of Rock Spring farm.
