MONTGOMERY, W.Va. -- A committee tasked with implementing a revitalization plan for West Virginia University Institute of Technology is getting support from faculty, students and staff.

The WVU Tech Classified Staff Council released a statement Monday saying the committee's recommendations are in the best interests of the school, faculty, staff and students.

Council chairwoman Barbara Boyd tells The Register-Herald that the Montgomery school is getting stronger every day and the committee's efforts need to continue. She says all factions are now on the same side.

The WVU Tech Student Government Association and the Faculty Assembly endorsed the committee's work in October.

Earlier this fall, committee member Dorothy Phillips objected to the committee's direction. She claimed it's focusing on facilities upgrades at the expense of academics.
