CLARKSBURG, W.Va. -- Two federal inmates at Hazleton have been sentenced to additional time behind bars for punching correctional officers in separate incidents.

The government says 34-year-old Frankie Correa pleaded guilty to the March 2011 assault and was sentenced to 15 months. He is already serving a 100-month sentence. The other punching incident occurred in May and involved inmate Lonnel Porter. The 28-year-old offender was sentenced to 27 months. He is serving a 104-month sentence.

Both men were sentenced recently in Clarksburg by a federal judge who accepted their guilty pleas. She ordered that the sentences be served consecutively.

Both correctional officers suffered facial injuries and bruising from the punches.
