Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a night hike on Kanawha State Forest's Portercamp Hollow/Boundary Road areas at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 4. Meet at the Polly Hollow parking area. The hike is 2 to 2 1/2 miles on a moderate trail. Wear hiking boots and bring a light source.
West Virginia Statewide Independent Living Council will meet from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Division of Rehabilitation Services, 10 McJunkin Road, Nitro. All sessions are open to the public. Basket of Hope will hold a fundraiser from 8 a.m. to noon Dec. 8 at Firebreather Fitness, Scott Depot. The event costs $50, with all proceeds going directly to the Basket of Hope-WV Branch to help provide hope and support for the children suffering with cancer and other terminal illnesses along with their families in our community. Early registration deadline is Dec. 3 and includes a T-shirt. Payment can be sent to Basket of Hope, P.O.
