CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginians can now get their hands on a calendar featuring photos of wildflowers from across the state.

The departments of Environmental Protection and Transportation say the 10th annual West Virginia Operation Wildflower "Roadsides in Bloom" calendar is available for order.

Officials say the free calendar features the 13 best photos of West Virginia wildflowers as judged by state officials.

Twelve photos were selected to represent the months of the year and a grand-prize winner's photo is displayed on the calendar cover.

David Arroniz of Kearneysville won this year's grand prize for his photo of cherry blossoms growing along Childs Road in Jefferson County.

The Operation Wildflower beautification program includes more than 250 acres of wildflowers grown along Mountain State roadways.
