State disaster victims have two weeks to seek aid

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Officials are reminding West Virginia residents who had losses during the summer storms that they have only two more weeks to apply for federal assistance.

Dec. 19 is the deadline to apply to FEMA for grants that help with temporary housing, home repair, medical, funeral, or dental expenses, property loss, or other disaster-related expenses.

Residents of Boone, Cabell, Clay, Fayette, Greenbrier, Jackson, Kanawha, Lincoln, Mason, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Monroe, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Raleigh, Roane, Tyler, Webster and Wood counties are eligible. They can apply online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or call 1-800-621-3362.
