NITRO CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL, CRAFT FAIR AND PARADE: Noon to 5 p.m. for the Christmas carnival and craft fair. Christmas parade begins at 6 p.m. Activities include face painting, crafts, games, pictures and lunch with Santa. A toy drive will be held. ELK THEATRE BENEFIT: 8 to 11 a.m., Town Square Café & Restaurant, 400 Fourth St., Sutton. Three pancakes, sausage links and hot chocolate will sell for $5.99 ($3.99 for child size). Patrons who attend will receive a free ticket to a private showing of "A Christmas Story" at noon Dec. 22. Proceeds will be used to purchase a digital projector for Elk Theatre. A breakfast will also take place Dec. 15. Donations can be made at the Bank of Gassaway's Flatwoods Branch or made with PayPal on the theater website at www.elktheatre.com.
