Downtown Charleston Christmas Parade (photos)

Santa Claus waves to the numerous spectators lined up on Court Street near the Charleston Town Center Mall who were waiting for his annual appearance in the Downtown Charleston Christmas Parade. This year, Girl Scout Troop #8371 won first place in the nonprofit group for their float in the parade float competition sponsored by the Charleston Town Center. Elk Valley Shamrocks 4-H Club took home second place and the Salvation Army Kettle Drive was named honorable mention. In the commercial division, C&H Taxi and Captain Cab took home first place. In second place was the Mardi Gras Casino and Resort while Goldman and Associates was named honorable mention. First place winners win lunch for eight at Tidewater Grill.

The Charleston Newspapers truck was decorated like a Christmas train locomotive in the annual Christmas Parade.
