DUNBAR, W.Va. -- A 14-year-old girl was hit by a pickup Monday morning while trying to cross the street in Dunbar.

Capt. B.C. Robbins of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department said the truck was traveling slowly at the time and the girl received minor injuries.

Robbins said Laura Clark, 56, of Dunbar, was turning off of Finney Hollow Drive onto Fairlawn Avenue at about 6:20 a.m. and apparently didn't see the teenager crossing the street. He said the girl was taken to Thomas Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Robbins said it was raining at the time of the incident and that no citations are expected.
